Paint equipment ?

Another question... I'm looking into getting stuff ready to paint the car.
I need to know what to get for my compressor so I can get the best paint job possible.
After looking at everything available. I don't know what to get.
I have a craftsman 33 gal, 1.6 hp, 150 psi compressor, 1/2 npt. The paint guns I have are Vaper HVLP , 1/4 npt , 15-45 psi, 7.0-9.0 cfm air consumption. I have a gun for ea. primers, bases, and touch ups. I also have two 25' hoses.
I was told I needed another inline regulator . And a water separator about 25' away and higher than the compressor. Which would cost about $50. total.
I checked around and talked to a guy from Eastwood. He said I should have either a two of four stage moisture trap (desiccant sys.). Depends on how much water the compressor has. Mine has a lot! And a regulator at the base of the gun. The desiccant sys. costs $188.99 and is 1/2 npt. The regualator costs $39.
Now I don't want to skimp on my equipment. Especially at this stage. But I don't want to go overboard either.
So what should I get? Where should I use the 1/2 to 1/4 npt adapter?
For you guys that paint and have good results. What do you have?

Can some of you painters tell me what your using so I can figure out what I need? I don't want to buy the wrong stuff. Thx

I don't paint enough to justify a drier, but if you run your lines out of black or galvanized steel the cooling of the air helps the moisture to seperate. I found good instructions online somewhere, but basicly you want the pipe to go upward in steps with drains at the low parts, so the water runs away from the end. Use one or two water traps and a disposable on the gun. Drain the compressor and traps completly before painting. I wish I could find those istructuons! A regulator at the gun is nice, but I don't like putting too much stuff on the gun, because it gets too bulky and hard to get into tight spots. I usually just set the regulator on the compressor 5psi higher and call it good. Check the cfm output against the hvlp and make sure it puts out enough, some hvlps use more air than conventional guns.
