Has anyone ever tried removing this part of the wheel? :? Does anyone this by doing this, it would dangerous? Image

Never tried, but would be concerned that the strength could be compromised, as well as balance, even though it is near center. Probably best not to try.

Brady,

I'm guessing those pieces are there to strengthen the wheel. I agree it's best to leave them where they are.

I just found a set of these on a junked car. The part you point to and the large arrow-looking areas were painted flat black. All the paint came right off while pressure washing the junk yard mud off. Saves me some bead-blasting time.

My plan is to paint only the sections you are pointing to. I saw some pictures on the web somewhere with just that small area painted. Compared to other paint schemes, I think it really highlights the four spokes.

I have about eight or nine of these wheels. This one is the worst and is junk. I thought I'd paint the center to see how it would look. I'm trying to see which way I want to go with them. Here is one I did sandblast.
