What size allen is the oil drain plug?

I have a lot of allen keys. Of course the oil drain plug would be bigger.

I have a 78 , 1800 eng.
What size is the oil pan drain plug

Is there any other specialty tools needed to work on the car?

I believe all FIAT oil pans use 12mm hex head drain plug.

Swapped mine out for a plug that could accept a socket, years ago and never looked back.

you're still gonna need that 12mm cuz that is what it takes to get fluid in/out of the transmission.

I did the same thing, I think the magnetic drain plug is 17mm.

The gear box takes 12mm hex head ans the differential uses a 14mm.

time out. the 12mm is an allen wrench, or hex wrench

the 14mm and the 17mm should be either a socket or a combination wrench.

So, I'm playing golf with my buddy and he says to me "hey, I found this wrench in my garage and it says Fiat on it. Do you want it?" Lo and behold, a "real" Fiat Oil Wrench! And he doesn't even own a Fiat.

I've misplaced mine and they're hard to come by unless you order from a Fiat vendor..
