Anyways, about the car - it's a '74 with an 1800. Currently maroon in color, the front end has had some slight rust repair done, and there's a little bondo hiding in the quarters, but I've researched pretty thoroughly and this car is solid where it counts - great rocker panels and sills, solid suspension mounting points, etc. It's been parked in a barn and started every other week since 1991, and a few months ago the owner died and left the car to his daughter, who has no idea what to do with it. A few curiosities - the smog pump seems to have been bypassed with a shorter timing belt (where the hell will I find a replacement), it has the 4-2-1 exhaust if I remember right, the interior is virtually immaculate, and of course it has the hideous '74-only CA/MD bumpers, which will be sold and replaced with Abarth blocks or something similar.
My plan for it is to paint it like an Abarth and use it as my BA/BE Rally car next year. If you're not familiar, the BA/BE Rally is a 5-day scavenger hunt rally run from New York to New Orleans every year. The catch is that you have to buy the car for $500 or less. I've completed it 3 times previously, in a Renault Encore, a Volkswagen Cabriolet, and a Volvo 960 - I've been the only one to bring a French car thus far, and nobody's had the stones to bring anything Italian, so I'm going to meet a new challenge this time.

I'm done yappin' now, but it's good to be here! Seems like a great resource.
