Opening the Trunk
Opening the Trunk
I dont have a key that fits my trunk....is there anyway of opening the trunk without one? The key that fits my ignition doesnt fit my door locks.....and as the car was sitting in a field since '85, the door keys are missing,

If you remove the licence plate and drill a 1/8" hole in the middle about 1-2 inches down you can use a small screwdriver or pick to pop the lock latch.

A good locksmith can start with a blank and make a key by hand. They put in the blank, wiggle it a little, file where the key is scratched by the tumblers and repeat until they have a key that works. Gotta find a locksmith though, that is a locksmith.

dont forget when picking the trunk, it turns to the left, not the right and has a fairly heavy spring resisting your turn action.
