Drain Holes
I know a lot of you have been deep into your Spiders, so maybe you can help me with this. I see the pockets where the rear quarter windows fold into have a small hose to drain whatever water pools there; however, I'm not seeing a way for this water to get out. It seems like it just pools in the sill area - is this right?

Re: Drain Holes
No, the hose extends all the way to the underside of the car. It often chafes at the hole in the floor, and rots away, but there should be a continuous, unkinked hose to the outside.

Re: Drain Holes
I figured the hoses should extend all the way out but on my '79, neither side does. Perhaps during some PO's bodywork they were sealed? Anyways, there is a drain hole just ahead of the rear tire on each side which has a rubber plug. I checked with a strong light (in the dark of night) and this is the only hole into that area. I'm thinking of extending the drain hose all the way back to here - what do you think? I know there is a chance that a little water could be trapped in the hose but better that than the sill.

Re: Drain Holes
I can take a picture of this drain next week, when we're back from Philly.

That would be fanstastic - I'd greatly appreciate it! I'd put up pics of mine but I'm not a fan of photobucket and don't know how else to get them up.

Soooooo, about those pics...................or have you just been too bowed up to get to them? Thanks.
Re: Drain Holes
first pic shows the hole that is in the rear seat section, just behind the door. It has a metal shield that stands up to protect the hole. Sec. pic shows a several inch rubber drain tube that goes through the hole. Hope that works for you.

The pics are great, thanks! I'm just not seeing where that hole exits the underside of the car and I don't think it's wise to just drain the water into the sill.
