tail light
tail light
I finally have my rear lights working except for the left tail light and real side markers. All contacts and bulb holders (almost like new) are clean, a new wiring harness thanks to Mark, and new bulbs. However the left tail light will just not work! Now what. This damn car is addicting!

Did you check it with a volt meter? Sometimes the circuit boards can get minute cracks that will break the connections. I'd recommend tracing your positive and ground wires and checking voltage along the way. They're wired in a pretty weird way. I had a problem with the left taillight on mine and it was caused by the ground on the right taillight.
I think the designers were schnockered when they designed the wiring on them.

taillight not working
Do you have a 79 or newer car with the printed circuit boards?? If so, fuse "G" or 7 could be the problem. This fuse also powers the Right front parking light so if it is working the fuse is probably good. The yellow/red wire into the left PC board connector is the left tail light/parking light power into the board. The board complets the circuit to the left side light in the fender as well as the left marker plate light. Do you have a "trouble light" or voltmeter. If you do you can check the yellow/red wire for voltage when the tail light should be lit. If possible do the test with the board plugged in and unplugged.
