Now, that's not to say that when I build my next motor to go in it that I'll build it for EGR. I wouldn't count on that.
Now, as to the other poster's query: when I took this to have it inspected, here's how the conversation went:
tech 1 to tech 2: "does it have a cat? does it need a cat?"
(me, suckin' on my teeth, playin' dumb, 'cuz it had one, but it ain't got one no more)
tech 2 to tech 1: "no dood, the sticker says it's federal, so it don't matter. just test it."
!?!?!?!?
now, I didn't ask specifically, 'cuz once you ask a question like that, it's tough to put the toothpaste back in the tube.... but should I gather from the conversation that for my '76, at least in my municipality, as long as it passes the sniffer, the actual equipment / visual test doesn't matter?
I dunno. after I've got a sticker, I'll prolly ask 'em what "It's Federal" means.....
