Radiator and Fans
Radiator and Fans
Here is my new radiator and fans. I had to use a radiator with both inlet and outlet on the same side because of interference with my supercharger.

Here is my fan photo. It was Sooooo easy, I just hooked the two wires that went to my fan directly into the temperature sending unit into the bottom of the radiator and I was done, Works great. Its a 16".
Re: Radiator and Fans
I kept my stock radiator, but had it cleaned, sealed, and painted.
However, I did switch to a SPAL 11" mid-profile fan that just fit under the lip of the end tanks using the included brackets and the stock mounting points. This allowed the fan to be close coupled to the rad for hopefully better airflow (plus it's 1" larger than stock, yet still draws about the same current) . I just switched connectors from the old fan to the new and plugged it right in to the circuit.

My engine is fairly stock (with the exception of the intake and ignition), but it's kept it cool for two summers so far, albeit, they've been kind of mild summers. I'm waiting for the next big heat wave to test it's performance. Now, if there were only hills in Michigan.

Re: Radiator and Fans
there ARE hills in michigan, just not in Royal Oak.
the bad news is that they are peppered with bovine torpedos looking for victims

Re: Radiator and Fans
There are hills in Royal Oak, its just that they are made of silicone and come in pairs.

I just miss the days when you can leave NYC and take a windy, hilly ride up the Taconic Pkwy to watch the leaves turn.
halg, that's a massive radiator, by the way. Aluminum, multiple core, end tanks.....it's a beaut. But, no wonder you had to use pusher fans, you wouldn't be able to fit them otherwise. Do they sound like a DC3 taking off?

Hal,
If Mind Melding was possible like Spock did it. I would have to make a stop to your neck of the woods. You do some awesome work.

Re: Radiator and Fans
That reminds me; I have a question- My '74 1800 doesn't have the tee fitting for the coolant hoses..
See-
Why is that?
Please tell me it's because my engine is some super special model.

Do you have the external thermostat? Maybe your thermostat is in the housing.
