Mine is a 78. The one I have is 10 3/8" long. It's missing the clips on the end. Still I would just rather get a new one since I'm going to get a new carb. I had the 32 ADFA. Now I'm getting the 32/36 DFEV.

Are you talking about a throttle cable? I have an extra one I was going to use on my Holley and ended up using the rod linkage Ron made for my 72.

I think Mike Bouse has a solution for the clips. You make new ones from a spring type hose clamp of this design: http://www.candccentral.co.uk/Hose-Clam ... Black.html
Also, call the vendors to see if they have any.
Unless you go to Pierce manifolds or find a used linkage, those rods and rod ends are hard to come by, or expensive.
I have some plastic ball socket ends that elimenate the clip and the existing ball socket end. It clips over the ball and the rod threads into it. I bought them from Bayless right before they went out of business. Send an email to midwest bayless and see if they unpacked item # 26 on page #54 yet.
Item #23 on page 54 is the clip, but I don't think they have any.
If you can find a length of metric threaded rod, it should work, and you can cut it to the length desired.

yeah... last i knew, Vick had some clips for sale. not in the catalogue, you gotta call and ask about 'em. i always advocate calling vendors, too much is done on-line, and not everything is possible to cover remotely.
and matt is correct, clips can easily be made using that hose clamp in his example. and of course, an emergency set could be made from a couple of cable ties... here is my write up:

I bought three of them from Vicks. The way it sounded they don't have to many of them. If you guys need them. I'd call. $1.75 each.

Ive got spares of those along with different rods floating around my garage, or I guess you could call it a small warehouse with all the junk[parts] crammed in there.
