Hey Folks,

Joined in December and forgot to post a hello, sorry, rude of me. Have had my '78 Fiat now for over 13 years (bought it when my daughter was born for $400, time flies). It has alway been a project, but THIS year she gets finished! So I joined in here to bolster my enthusiasm and get a few tips maybe. I am an engineer with far too many projects and not enough time, so I might need some help staying focused. Here's a pic of where I am right now:



The motor and trans has been rebuilt (runs good), the body's 90% ready for paint (well maybe 80%, got to put the 'glass fenders on), new seats showed up last week.

Wow, with that project and all the cars listed, when did you ever find time to have a kid 13 years ago?

I see your english Ford listed. There is one that always shows up to my church annual car show. This isn't you is it?

Welcome Bob,

The only way I know to finish a project among many is to pick one and stick with it until it is done. If there is down time waiting for parts, etc. study up and plan your next moves on that same project. The others will still be calling to you but just say "not your turn yet."

My FIL is an 82 y.o mechanical engineer, has a 1942 Taylorcraft (airplane) in exc cond., a 1948 Ford F-1 he's had since 1956 and is now rejuvenating, and two old canoes in barns around town. He just sold his '66 Mercedes 190 diesel sedan that he bought in 1974 (for the gas crunch) and finished the ongoing restoration in 2004. He also recently sold his restored wooden International-14 sailboat.

Look how much easier it is to work on the suspension without those silly fenders! Next time I'm forced to work on the front suspension I'll have to try that.

Here's a few of my other projects: the FJ40's all done ('cept now I just picked up a hydroboost brake/PS steering unit I think I'll install), the F-100's going up for sale I think. The restare all too dearto me, especially my Anglias. The beauty is my new bride seems to understand, though she did say no more IN till one goes OUT!! LOL












Oh, and I'm working on a twin turbo Valk with a single-sided swingarm from a GL1800

I love the FJ-40! I was really into off road for a while,and have owned several Jeeps.I ran Tellico with a group of FJ owners.They are a great vehicle.

Are you building some sort of drag bike? Wow, you do have a full plate. Great collection of vehicles!

Looks like maybe a 900 RR rear. Is that a Suzuki front? What engine is that? Pretty long swing arm. What's your intention with the bike. Looks pretty cool.

I'm guessing Goldwing on the bike. 1500 or 1800? That is a very ambitious project! Sure am curious what your plans are for it.

Thanks for all the good words, guys. I love my projects and wouldn't give up any of them. Fortunately, I have a wife that seems to understand my obsession, bless her.

The bike is a wild hair yearning to be free. I have a valk I've ridden since new and alway felt the motor deserves a sportier venue to really shine.

The front is from a CBR1100RR. The swingarm is from a goldwing GL1800. The tail is CBR1100RR. The tank is from a CB1000. The motor and frame are Valkyrie 1520 cc. The only part not Honda is the headlight from a Hayabusa.
Plan is to twin turbo with EFI to the tune of 185hp - should get me into a low to mid 8 quarter depending upon final weight.
