Would these mirrors work for our cars? I like the style and think they would look pretty sweet mounted on the fenders

Re: Bullet mirrors
I don't know how that base would work. Those look like they fit on an A-pillar instead of on a fender or door. Here's a site with different styles, including the one you were looking at:

Re: Bullet mirrors
I bought a set { fender mount } and thought they would mount on the doors. No, I can barely adjust the D\side. If you are looking to mount them to the fenders, Ill give you a deal on mine! http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18 ... sit016.jpg My friend in Chicago had them too.http://www.flickr.com/photos/leeputmanjr/4150296507/

Thanks for the plug, Racy-Dave!
Here is a better pic of what I did:

Between my mirrors, the hedlight eybrows, & my bumper delete...BOY HOWDY...did people ever comment on my car! I loved 'em though! (Sold this car in Sept '09)
One drawback - while I placed the mirrors on the fenders so that I had excellent sight lines (they each had a clear view, & were not blocked by windshield wipers, etc), they were EXACTLY where I wanted to lay my belly across the fender when wrenching!

Dang, I hate when that happens.leeputmanjr wrote:

I know it's hard to see in this old picture, but my 68 had the bullet style mirrors:
I prefer the round mirrors on my 72. Even though they're not stock, they are easy to adjust and use. The originals just don't adjust far enough in for me.

Re: Bullet mirrors
yours were on the door, right Denise? could you still operate the wing window?
lee's were on the fender, and as he states... dang always in the way when you needed to work under the hood.

Re: Bullet mirrors
Yes, they stuck out far enough so as not to impede the operation of the wing window. Sorta like the regular mirrors.

@leeputmanjr
I love that color!! What is it, do you remember? I also Love those mirrors placed on the fender like that! I almost think the look of them would almost be worth having to remove them anytime I had to do work under the hood xD
