Roll bar installation
Roll bar installation
Hey guys and girls. I have a new roll bar for my 81 spider and don't know exactly where to mount the thing. Can someone send me some pics of where to bolt it down?
Re: Roll bar installation
I think you should put it in a box, send it to me and don't bother with it but anyway. if its a correct roll bar. the bottom should hook to that lip down by the passenger feet heels and the braces that extend back bolt to the wheel wells. You do realize you have to notch the sides of your back seat to make this happen. I don't have a back seat so i dont have any photos for you.

Re: Roll bar installation
Here are pics of my Autopower. I didn't bother reinstalling the interior quarter trim because I didn't want to cut the originals up. I also didn't want to worry with reinstalling the seat bottom since this car is my "Beater" car.
Here you can see where we cut out access holes in the door sill and seat bottom "tray" to install the bolts and nuts for the forward legs. There are probably other ways to do this, like use longer bolts and drill holes from the floor pan:

Re: Roll bar installation
I have an Autopower too. Here's a few pics of how I trimmed the rear panels to clear it. As far as the seat bottom goes, I cut out a small wire brace that ran side to side so I could bend the outer wire around the tube.
