I drove my 82 today, for a couple hours.A little cruising and some very hard driving over Blood Mountain(blew off a Miata ).Car is running great, with a small exception.Several times the car seemed to hiccup.Never during hard acceleration or constant throttle. It only seems to occur at low speed, like pulling away from a light or going very slowly in low gear.Just wondered if anyone had experienced this or had a idea what to check? It seems very minor and intermittent, but I hate to see it become an issue.I did watch the tach when I caught it one time,it doesnt seem to be electrical in nature but its hard to tell.
Thanks,Craig

Are you sure it is injection related? Sounds more like an ignition misfire. Secondary ignition (coil output to plugs) runs at higher voltage under load so if you have a bad wire, cap, or plug it will misfire more than at idle or cruise rpm. Put it on a scope if you can and look at the firing patterns under load.
Hey Mark and Jeff,
not really sure of what it could be.I thought I would get some suggestions and then try to check them as a starting point. It could be either of those items, and I will test for them.It is very intermittent, did it 3 times in 2 hours, although I felt it a little more when it was cold.I can check the AFM flap first,I didnt think of that.Car hasnt been driven a lot in the last couple months, and I have been under the hood a lot.Could be as simple as a loose wire/connection.

Is your vacuum advance hooked up Craig? A blown diaphragm created a vacuum leak that caused an occasional stutter at idle, so I plugged the line to it and stopped the nuisance.
And, I'll 2nd Mark's suggestion: check the AFM flap movement. (Throughout the whole range )

Thanks,Ronster!..I was hoping if I posted something with 'fuel injection' in the title,I could lure you out of hiding! I replaced the vac capsule a couple years back, but I will check the line.Little intermittent stuff like this drive me crazy. Now I have a few ideas on where to start looking. Thanks
