Has anyone fit an early Spider with the later-type fender liners?
I just bought a new set from the vendors and pop riveted the two halves together. They dry-fit pretty nicely, but I'd like to get some ideas on how people actually attached them to early Spider wheel wells which didn't originally have provisions for them.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I didnt even know they had them. I guess they may have a more finished look to them installed. Id rather have a set of those bolt on fender flares and spoiler! Post up a pic before and after.

I installed a used pair of liners onto my 74 spider. I didn't come across any issues except they have to fit pretty snug along the fender lip. I also drilled several holes at strategic places inside the wheel wells and installed sheet metal screws with washers. They held up pretty good. They certainly help to keep the the back of the front and signal lights clean. Good luck. Have fun, JimmyG

Have any pics? I'd like to see how it fit (around the fender lip especially) and which strategic places to put those fasteners. Re: Fender liners on an early Spider retrofit
Got another question.
Should the outer lip of the fender liner sit outside of the car's fender lip? I.e., the wheel well opening where the fender is bent inward is covered by the plastic fender liner when in position (see pic)?

Is this right? It seems like, for appearances, the fender liner lip should sit fully inside the fender, but it doesn't seem to fit that way.

Sorry James, I just saw you message in my inbox after posting the above (and I don't know how to delete a post). Thanks for the explanation.
