What car is this?

I was passed by this car on the 101 in Ventura last Saturday. At first I thought it may be an 850 Sport Coupe, but I couldn't really tell. I was able to snap a quick pic with my phone, and though it's not the best image I'm wondering if someone here knows what it is, or even better, if the owner is a member.

The car was beautiful, and the driver was getting the most out of what must be a small engine!

Sorry, that's the best I could do with the phone camera. The rear of the car had some identifying script, but I never was close enough to read it.

I'm going with either a '59 - '60 Aston Martin or similar vintage Lancia.

Not an 850, not a Volvo, not an Aston, not a Lancia, It appears to be an Italian coachbuilder, possibly someone like Vignale, Allemano, or Zagato. Clearly competition detailing in the sliding plex windows. And it's possible that it's on a British chassis, but I'd guess it's probably something Italian like an OSCA or a small Maserati, like the A6GCS. If any of those emblems were clear, or if we could see the front, it'd be simple. But shooting a partial image, into the sun with a cell phone, is really adding some sport to this one.

I did think that it had Pininfarina script on the back, but I couldn't be sure.

The wire wheels certainly suggest a British car. This Zagato has more of a "brow" on the roof/windshield, so not this model/year.

Looks like you're right Nick. However, AutoRicambi posted at the other site at 9:11 compared to your 10:26, taking into account the time difference, it looks like they beat you by 15 minutes, so it looks like all you win is an "atta boy".

Nice job Nick! I was a bit disappointed though as I was hoping the car would have some ancestry tracing back to Vignale, what a great era for "coachbuilding" check this site out, some beautiful pics and interesting history

Actually I knew yesterday and saved the links but could not post till today... my wife and son were in a rear end collision and they have been injured so I've been back and fourth to the hospital/doctors/police station and it's taking a toll on everyday activities.. Getting hit at 65 miles an hour in the back of an Xterra by an Escalade SUV is not pretty... I'm sure my son's Xterra is totaled from what I saw at the impound... the other guys SUV is toast... and he just bought it about a week ago... seems he didn't know how to drive it or was texting or on the cellphone.

My wife is in a neck/back brace and my son is also on an arm/backbrace and have very limited mobility and it's to the point I must ask anyone who sent me clocks or instruments to be aware my family's needs come first above anything else... not the best in holiday seasons but it could have been much, much worse.
