79 Interior Replacement

Hi, I worked on my interior in the fall.

I couldn't wait to work on my spider but I missed out on some good fall driving! Now it's been sitting waiting for more sunshine.

Everything I did I learned from this site.
I ordered the upholstery from Upholstery world

I got the indoor/outdoor carpet from, I think Lowes.

I spray painted the center console black with truck bed liner. Added a new black boot and shifter knob.

I took the seat backs to a local welder for reinforcement. I've never worked on cars before. It's been fun learning on the spider.

Total price around $500

Looks nice! I ordered mine too from World upholstery.

Is that the way the factory routed the battery cable over the hump? Mine was like that also but I routed the new cable through that hole in the hump, just above the fuel lines. Is that ok? Still can't figure out what the purpose of that hole is for.

The battery cable looked sort of newer. I didn't reroute it. I think you want some separation between your fuel and electrical lines.

I wish I had put dynamat down and replaced the seat cushions, both would have added cost but I don't want to do this job again to add those later. I try to keep the costs down. My wife still won't even ride in the car. She hates it

I don't have to worry about the fuel lines as the PO replaced the metal lines and ran rubber fuel hoses under the car.

I guess I'll put the new cable over the hump then.
