Leg Room

I am 6 foot tall and have no problems reaching either the clutch or brake peddles with my left leg. My problem is that the accelerator petal is positioned in such a way that I have to bend my right leg to work it; with my knee against the center console. Short jaunts around town are no problem but on longer drives my right leg gets sore. Is there a way to adjust the accelerator petal?
