The Monte is getting extremely rare now & gets an amazing amount of attention wherever I take it.
I started restoring the 124 the day it came home, so I cannot compare, but there is something about the lines of the car that make it slightly more pleasing to the eye than the Monte?
Not sure really.
I suspect once you drive both there will be something about one that you prefer than the other.
