What kind of air filter are you going to use? I tried running a swept Alquati on my 72 124 Spider and had clearance issues at the firewall.

I have no problem running filters. Should not be with your car but is the frame rail is straight like on the AS 1438cc spiders?

Your car should have the oval cut out like my car (indicated in the picture)

Maybe the motor mount brackets were bolted on the block pointing the opposite way pushing the engine back towards the fire wall?

You might have something there with the motor mount. I'm running a solid one on the left side of the motor to keeping the engine from torqueing when I accelerate. I've got the setup under a flat hood and don't have much wiggle room. There may possible be a slight change in angle.
