Re: Engine Bay Gallery! Please add your own!
Pardon me for resurrecting an old thread, but I am getting ideas for my engine bay. Quick question, where is the AFM in the above engine bay?TX82FIAT wrote:

Any ideas where the blue silicone hoses are from?pgilling wrote:My engine is now bay finally finished, the overheating was caused by the Chinese knock-off fan that came with the car. I therefore bought a quality SPAL fan that solved the problem, along with a Zircotec coated exhaust manifold that kept the under bonnet temperatures down.

Slight welding scar on No 1 pipe to repair a crack.

Tx82fiat is using Vick's programmable fuel injection, which eliminates the afm.

Eliminating that darned AFM is an advantage in itself, any other items effected using the programmable FI?

I found the blue silicone vacuum, heater hoses, etc, but not the radiator hoses. I've never used silicone hoses before, can you use a straight hose and make the correct bends to work on a radiator?joelittel wrote:Tx82fiat is using Vick's programmable fuel injection, which eliminates the afm.

Re: Engine Bay Gallery! Please add your own!
You get an entirely new wiring harness, which replaces the stock one. O2 sensor is replaced by a wide band bosch unit and the Innovate MTX-L gauge. The crank pulley is replaced by an aluminum one with a toothed trigger wheel, so you're shedding some weight there. No more thermo time switch, no more cold start injector, no more aux air valve, and the stock double relay is replaced by a new one, which is included with the new wiring harness... I'll post some pictures when I can.RRoller123 wrote:Eliminating that darned AFM is an advantage in itself, any other items effected using the programmable FI?

Hello Don,
Apologies for my tardy reply. I got the hoses in the UK from Racetech hoses. Unfortunately I don't know of anywhere is the US that supplies them but I'm sure if you'll be able to find some from a race parts supplier.
Regards, PG

Engine bay update! Swapped out the plastic overflow tank and line for braided s/s and a chrome polished reservoir for the radiator.

What was Fiat thinking when they made the belt guard out of bright yellow plastic? That alone makes me keep my car's hood down. (Not that the rest of mine's innards are all that attractive.)
