Dan - For some reason the email I sent bounced, but the jets you needed were mailed today and will be there by noon tomorrow. I also inlcuded a set of F9 emulsion tubes so you have more flexibility in dialing in the carbs.

Just those two - and I received your response as well. Not sure why it gave me that notice.

Just looking through this post, what model Holly fuel pump are folks using? There are many "blue" models
Never mind - same performance specs - just newer model #

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide, Dual IDF fuel economy?
Just a check on what to expect or how others are doing.
I have made several trips from the Central Valley over the Altamont into the SF Bay Area with my dual IDF's and seem to be averaging about 21 MPG. Keep in mind, I am not driving it for best economy, I hold the gears longer than I probably should and rev the piss out of it when the traffic allows. Lots of fun.
I am not at all complaining as this is the same fuel economy I was getting with the EMPI 32/36.
The plus side is the sweet sound and the extra power I gained.

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
That sounds about right, but if you are careful and on a freeway you can eek out 25 or so. I get about 21 from my 2.0L with 44 IDFs on it. I can also get it down to 18 or so if I am having fun.

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
I was thinking the same, If I could only back off the throttle and cruise at a lower speed.........
But for some reason, it never happens.
I may have to do an economy run sometime to see just how much mileage I can get by driving like a stodgy old adult, instead of like a 50 yr old teenager.

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
And so why on earth would you want to do that? You can get the mileage you want driving a modern appliance. When I get into one of the vintage FIATS I'm driving a CAR!

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
Hey sptcoupe thanks for bringing me back to my senses!
Ever notice that it seems to be more fun to do a slow run up thru the RPM band as you go thru the gears? Due to the sounds that the induction makes as you accelerate.
More fun to me anyway that trying to do a light to light race with rushed shifts.

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
Glad to see you back on track! I thought we had lost you there for a moment. I can't think of a sound I like more than dual Webers on a Lampredi TC. For me, cruising at about 5500 - 6000 rpms is the sweetest music there is.
Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
Great reading exactly what I needed !
Need advice.
The car has been sitting for over 3 weeks without starting up…have just finished installing a new fuel filter by Filter King , waited a little while and turned over the key , the car started first go this has never happened before so was very happy can't say it was because of the new filter but hey first impressions are always the best !
Went on to install a new fuel pressure gauge ,again started first go so thought this is great…hoping to see the gauge idling to adjust fuel pressure but nothing at all…:( Any idea's ?
Cheers.

Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
So the gauge isn't moving when at idle? Have you tried making an adjustment one way or the other (preferably toward higher pressure) to see what happens?
Re: IDF Carb Tuning Guide
Yes tried that already , drove the car the other day without problems fuel flow was very responsive much better than before still the gauge doesn't work maybe it's just faulty will replace it over the weekend see what happens.
