Re: new project! barn find
Look at the bright side Trey; you have the car running successfully. Now you just have a few "details" to sort out and you'll be pleased as Punch. Good work - I really enjoyed rereading the entire thread and seeing all your hard work.

Re: new project! barn find
I drove it today, 25 miles! Up until now, it's just been a few jaunts around town. As soon as I got it road worthy, the weather turned on me. I was relieved that the trans and rearend seemed solid, (tape measure alignment -not so good). Manual brake conversion is good. The carb seemed lean and wanted to stall until fully warmed up. My plan was to put Heather's '82 into the storage garage, so I could finish mine up this winter, (the joys of a single car garage)!
The good news is, the new house we just bought has a 2 car garage! Plus it's on an acre, so I can build my dream shop, someday. The bad news is I'm going to be spending all of my money and time for the next year on the new house & I have to move all my junk Look for a garage clean out thread with cheap/free parts very soon, but don't worry no cars will be harmed/sold.

Let us know when you build the shop Trey, I'll come up and help with the barn raising. I can still frame. I'm just as good, just not as fast.

I think once you get all the bugs worked out of your 72, you'll appreciate the charm the early cars have over the fuel injected models. Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

Man I just re-read these posts and I miss my car! I haven't even seen it in 5 months! I'd better go to my storage garage and check it out!

G'day htchevyii,
Do still have this car? Looking at the photos of you roll over bar. It looks to be set back a bit further than most I've seen.
Do you have any photos of where the roll over bar mounts?
Cheers,

Hi Paul,
I do still have it, but it's in storage right now. I'm not real hot on the roll bar that's in it, it appears to be home made and mounts to the floor pan where the seat bottom was. My other car has an Autopower and I like it better, (with minor mods you can keep the rear "seat").

Man, it's been 5 years and the poor car is still sitting 75% done! Too many irons in the fire, as soon as I'm done with the 1957 f-100 I'm working on I need to finish the poor 72 Spider.
It is inside and dry, stuffed in one side of the shop with the '78 rat racer, my dad's 78 MGB and Heather's '82.

Re: (not so) new project! barn find '72
Well, I threw in the towel and sold the '72 today. We still have the '82 and don't plan on it going anywhere. I figured if after 16 years I still hadn't finished the car, it was time to let it go.
