The 79 had a mechanical fuel pump. They are very inexpensive to replace. Check out

If you get her running, you might want to consider converting to a low pressure electric fuel pump. There's nothing inherently wrong with the mechanical pumps, but for some reason the fuel pressure won't stay up and it'll need to crank for 15-30 seconds if it sits more than a day or two. An electronic pump will fix the problem quickly.
