The GITA is Arizona's chapter of the Fiat Lancia Unlimited Club's yearly treasure hunt and rally drive, (gita is Italian for drive in the country).
The event registration, at least if you want lunch and the annual goodie bag, is necessary by contacting Eric Lynn at elynn1@cox.net.
I did this a few years ago with my son and had a great time, although there weren't nearly enough spiders that day. There were however many nice older Fiats and Lancias participating.
Start location is Carmel's coffee shop at 4225 E. Camelback Rd in Phoenix. Arrival time is 8:30 AM with a 9:30 start time. There is a small contribution ($15), but it includes lunch. Also there will be fun contributions from vendors and supporters for prizes and winners. and they plan it so everyone will come away with a little something.
The format will require navigators and/or at least some way to do a search for locations (ie. ipad, smartphone, gps). You will also need a way to take pictures (digital camera, smart phone) for points.
If you're in the area and want a chance to get your spider out on New Year's Day, please let Eric know. I don't want to be the only 124/2000 again this year.
