Caliper Spring Clips Install

Post by KRegester »

Ok, Which one is correct?

A - Spring resting on the back of the caliper applying pressure outward.
B - Spring between the angled shim and caliper bracket.

A - looks like the way it was designed to work with the spring resting on the angled cut on back of the caliper but car had them installed like B.

A is correct, I've seen them assembled like B also, but that binds the caliper and won't let it slide. Also, the sliding pieces should be lubricated with a caliper grease. Bendix ceramlub is the best

Thanx Mark!
Yeah, It didn't make sense to mill out the back for no good reason.
This is just a temp assy to check fit.
I will pull the calipers and bead blast them before hi temp painting them too.
The brackets silica blasted nicely and have VHT paint on them.
