TURBO MANIFOLDS-WE'VE GOT 'EM!

Post by So Cal Mark »

I'm happy to announce that we finally have turbo manifolds for the Spider. It's a cast iron manifold that accomodates a T3 turbo with a blow off valve on top.
We will offer a kit in the future, but for now the manifolds are available for $430 and turbos for $625.
The initial kit will fit FI applications but we will have blow-through hats to fit dual IDFs too.

That looks great! Are there any pics of it installed? I like to see the clearance in the bay (although I really should be replacing my long lost 4th gear instead of thinking about this).

Any chance of a belt driven supercharger in the future?

we're still working on the supercharger project, but lots of hurdles to overcome with that upgrade.

Looks neat. The manifold looks like a Lancia Integrale type, how are you going to handle the water pump outlet?

the external thermostat fits around the turbo. I'll be posting pictures as we mock up the set up in the car

You're a terrible terrible person. I hope you realize that. I already had plans to go IDF, now I'm reading they can stock handle "up to" 10 psi of boost as they are. Already thinking about just slapping a tiny turbo on it, setting the BOV to something low like 6 psi and... well you're paying for my broken diffs

Mark, maybe I don't understand how your setup works for that Bov, but wouldn't an waist gates t3 turbo be easier?

we'll be offering a T3 with an internal waste gate, but the manifold has the provision for a blow off valve as an option

I had the same question Ted. Blow off valves are installed on the intake manifold to release pressure when the throttle is closed to prevent stalling the turbo compressor. An external waste gate would be installed on the exhaust to control exhaust gasses through turbine end of the turbo and thus control the maximum boost pressure.
