Hello from CA! Searching for my first Spider

Post by maxm50 »

Hi all!
Glad to be a part of this community. I'm an ex-Miata owner and I'm looking for something more classic - I think a Fiat Spider is going to be just the ticket. I've considered the Alfa also, but... the styling just doesn't do it for me like the Fiat does!

I'm looking to buy one in Northern CA. Will post a wanted message also, but, if anyone happens to read this and knows of one for sale in northern CA, please drop me a line! Thanks!

Cheers,
Max

Welcome, and just out of curiosity, where are you in Northern CA? If in the Bay Area, there are a number of us who will (some day) get together and share Fiat stories over a beer (or two). I'm looking at you, GeoSpider and SteinOnkel! :D

Also out of curiosity, what range of model years are you looking for? Early or late spiders?

Hello,

ah, yes, there is that elusive beer and octane related conversation :) That needs to be a thing.

I am potentially looking to sell my Spider soon(ish). I'm in Sonoma County.

Cheers

I hear you Bryan. Lets just pick a day. Toyfiats; you too. Get the bay area group together.

As for finding a spider Max; keep checking here, also check in with the Sacramento fiat club. Good group of guys.

I'm still around. Just took the Spider off the trickle charger last week to take my youngest to school. Looking forward to driving it more now that the weather is starting to warm up.

I'm with you, ScrapIron, and the challenge is getting you, me, GeoSpider, ToyFiats, Steiny, and anyone else in the Bay Area together to power down that cold one (or two). I'm almost to the point of sending some PMs and just proposing dates, but I'm always open to ideas.

Any Saturday works for me, up through March 14th. Central location? Maybe Walnut Creek? Venue? Rotator Taproom? (I'm just googling here as I'm not that familiar with Walnut Creek).

I'll even buy Steiny and GeoSpider (and anyone else) a beer for all the grief they have had to put up from me over the past few months of forum-postings. All good-natured, of course.

I'm up in the Richmond/El Sobrante/Pinole Metroplex so I'm open to pretty much anything East Bay.

Works for me. My wife and I have a dinner event that evening, but something in the afternoon would be fine.
