Hey homies! From Montana with love!

Post by AbuBee »

Bought this 1978 124 Spider from a buddy as my first project car in my first garage. It rough around the edged. Like real rough. However supposedly it was running before his buddy gave it to a mechanic to "fix up" and he dismantled the fuel tank, carb, and distributor. Also I guess that getting it running involved disassembling the interior.

Either way, so far I've gotten everything done that I can, and am waiting for all of this to blow over before having my buddy over to help me repair the carb and *hopefully* get it running.

The paint on it is tragic, the passenger seat is missing, the drivers side rear fender is rusted out, and it's obviously not running. But DAMN I love this thing.

Anyone put different seats in theirs? I wanna put some old BMW seats in it, some nice lil leather ones or something.

Any other tips for a beginner?

Try some polishing compound on that paint job. Sometimes it works wonders if the paint is just oxidized, which looks like it may be from your picture.

Word is bond, homie. 8)
