After each change I noticed about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of fresh oil in the drip pan under the car. Checked the motor oil looks like no change there. The oil in the pan is "fresh" but has that metalic smell of gear oil. I Always have some sort of drip of something, but never this kind of leak.
When changing the transmission oil, I emptied the oil through the bottom plug and actually pulled off the pan bottom and replaced the gasket, then using the fill plug (bottom front side of the transmission uses a standard 13mm wrench), a tube and a funnel and help from my son filled up the oil until it drained slightly out of the fill plug. Tightned everything up. I don't see any leaks around the new gasket. My car was on car ramps so I had a slight front to back lean in the car when I did all of this work.
Is there some "overfill" escape that I don't know about? I assume when the oil gets hot it expands? Do I have a bigger problem?
