Occasionally over last couple years , when turning key on my 81 Spider, the oil and battery light and radio would go on, but nothing else happened. I’d turn key once or twice again and car started normally.
Maybe if I turned key little firmly it would start up.
Today- I turned key couple or three times, dash lights went on but silence. But then I turned again and started engaged and spun - but didn’t start. Tried couple more times, over hour or so later again- starter ( hi-torque I installed couple years ago - very happy with that) engaged and spun , but didn’t start.
Could it be ignition switch has failed completely??
It may be original - says Sipea on face. Car shows 82,000 miles , might be correct ??
Appreciate this forums help !!!!

Re: Ignition switch problem???
Update for others.
Thanks to Spider2081’s invaluable help, I was able to test ignition switch and determine it wasn’t the problem
It turned out to be total failure of ignition control module. I had changed it recently , as car had been stalling and tough starting when warmed up, but this one was dead. I had bought two on line from some auto parts supplier , maybe was generic poorly made ?? Lasted two months, put other one in today, need it to last till new ones come from VICK , ordered two today
