
Anyway, I decided to spend a little time in the garage this afternoon and take a look at the head of my "rebuilt" engine while the engine is apart. I suspect that the number two and four exhaust valves have been replaced since they don't match the other two. Looking in the port of number four, I found some major pitting

The seat is damaged too

Can this be repaired? Or, should I start looking for another head? What would cause this damage?
