Running power to the Automatic choke

The owner before did not finish hooking up the automatic choke. I cannot find any power running to the automatic choke. I believe the power would hook up the metal end coming out of the middle of the choke. See picture.

My question: Where is the best place to run the power from and is there any thing special I need to watch out for?

your original carb probably had a hot wire to the idle cutoff solenoid. That is the perfect solution, just connect it to the choke terminal
