Broken top cable

Post by barnesjtsl »

I installed a new top (79 2000) a few months ago. The other day I found that my drivers side cable that runs from the front top bow to the keeper beside/behind the rear seat had borken. The cable has come completely out.

Can anyone tell me if a cable can be "fished" through and intalled after the top has been installed?

Should I even bother, the top seems to be fitting properly? What exactly do these cables do anyway?

Thanks,

John B

the cable can be replaced with the top on. Their purpose is to keep the sides taut
