Exhaust Sensor Light

My exhaust sensor light came on yesterday, even though I replaced my cat with a test pipe a week or so ago... is this anything to get concerned about? Should I simply disconnect the light?

if you took the oem cat off, the sensor isn't connected to anything unless you installed a fitting in the test pipe for it

you can take the cat off mark the sensor is in the exhaust manifold (oxygen sensor) it may have gone bad because the mixture got rich or lean, or the interval of 30,000 miles has been reached.
"on fuel injected models the oxygen sensor must be replaced every 30'000 miles to insure correct emission levels. a warning lamp on the instrument panel will light at 30'000 mile intervals and must be reset after sensor replacement.
the sensor is located in the exhaust manifold of non-turbocharged engines and in the turbocharger outlet elbow of the turbocharged engines."

I guess I misread the post, I was thinking of the exhaust gas temp warning light. That sensor is in the cat

I would bet your car still has the warning light switch box connected. Reset the switch down by the throttle pedal. There is a black box down there with a plug in the front, pull out the plug and depress the plunger inside ( as I remember from doing this last year on our Spider). Get a shop manual and is will describe this process in detail and for sure. This switch trips on a specific mileage, either every 20,30 or 50 K miles, can't remember which for sure. It is a simple fix!
