Rear brake regulator bushings?

Maybe someone can help me out with this; On both of my cars, the vertical link from the torsion bar to the axle casing is connected on both ends with a bolt only. It's as if any rubber bushings that may have once been there are completely gone. But, I'm not sure if there is even supposed to be bushings there... I can't find anything about them anywhere.

Can someone suggest what I could use in place of bushings (since none seem to be available anywhere) or if they are even needed at all?

Vick auto sport and Classic Ricambi have the bushings. I called them today for a brake related matter.
