Brake/Clutch/Gas Pedal Assembly Refurbishment

Post by nate302 »

So here's the story. I've been working on a project car, and it had a problem revving high randomly, and the gas pedal wouldn't come all the way up. I decided it was time, ripped out the dash, steering column, took a unit from a parts car, and refurbished it. Here are some pictures. (The entire process was several days)

Before pictures of the clutch pedal (pretty bad but the important components were clean)

Before pictures of the gas pedal (it was so bad, the unit wouldn't move, instead, pushing down on the gas pedal flexed it against the firewall. oops!)

After Restoration (lots of sanding, cleaning, primer, enamel paint)

Final product ready to be installed (I used pennies to keep the springs expanded to remove and re-install.)

Off subject, but worthy. My father's car currently having the dual carbs rebuilt (it sat for about 5 years) and some pictures on the two cars currently being worked on.
