Carlisle Import Gathering--22 May
Carlisle Import Gathering--22 May
Be sure to include the Carlisle Import Show in your spring plans. DCFiats will be anchoring the Fiat/Lancia row at the show with complimentary burgers, Italian sausage and lots of catching up with old FLU friends and new folks. You can still purchase a discount entry pass from Carlise from their website, (until tomorrow) or you can follow the links from the http://www.dcfiats.org/events to purchase an advance pass. If nothing else, come by to see how Todd fits a full Weber grill, gas bottle, and enough buns, burgers and sausage for 60 people in his X-19!

Re: Carlisle Import Gathering--22 May
Congratulations to all the optimists who defied the weather forecast and showed up! Although menacing, not a drop fell during our entire stay and journey, a testament to all who drove "topless" yesterday.
27 Italian cars by my count, handily besting the French contingent across the aisle (although they did have an ancient Citroen ambulance and a Renault Gordini). Other marques were very well-represented: probably every Opel GT still alive was there, at least 75 of them. An ungodly number of Saab turbos from far and wide; maybe their FreakOut? Several kit cars, too, if you're into that sort of thing.
DC Fiats President-for-Life Todd served up dozens of hamburgers and sausages to visitors and guests. I picked up a few interesting old magazines, saw a vendor selling wood dash inserts for British cars (Denise, there's a fortune awaiting you here. $600? Not nearly as nice as some of yours), and lots of flea-market automotive stuff. Definitely worth attending at least once in your life, probably 800 imports and kit cars arranged by marque and country.
