1978 Spider Console removal
I'm trying to get a refresher before what should be a small project. I want to replace the courtesy light and cigarette lighter in the upper console. I also want to check the connections behind the console. I've taken the upper console off before but it's been almost 40 years! I know there are only two screws to remove -- one on each side of the console toward the front of the car. And I'm pretty sure it comes off from around the radio, so the radio does not need to be removed. Am i remembering that correctly? Any help would be appreciated. Are there any videos available?

You've got it right. Just remove the two screws and rock it from side to side a little while pulling it back. The wires are not overly long for the four way flasher, cigarette lighter or courtesy light, so be carful not to unplug them while pulling. Label each wire when you unplug it! You'll have to pull the left side out further than the right so you can get access to the connections.
