Denise, the throwout bearing is outside of the transmission. This is the thrust spring from the first or second gear synchronizer which done broke.
Mark, worth saving as a core, or to the recycler?

Dear Baltobernie, Look familiar? just goes to show you we're all in this together. At least now I'll have a 5 speed instead of 3 or 4. My tranny is supposed to be arriving thursday. How did yours turn out?
