I'd like to move the location of my O2 sensor and in doing so I'll have to plug the original bung. Will I need a washer between my plug bolt and bung (sounds dirty doesn't it)?
I was thinking that a copper washer couldn't hurt but wasn't sure if it is necessary.
Reason for the move is that I'm using an Innovate MTX-L Wideband with Allison's header and the guys over at MSextra.com say the bung needs to be at least 40" down pipe from the point where the header joins the block.

+1. I have done some reading on this and it does seem that they are fairly sensitive to the distance from the exhaust port! What were the parameters that caused you to choose the Innovate MTX-L?

Re: Plugging the O2 Sensor Bung
It was the one recommend by Vick's to pair with their EFI setup. Seems like 14point7 is popular too.
The Bosch sensor is very sensitive to heat and before tuning began my header generated some serious heat.
Even after mild tuning it still generates more heat than you might think so moving the bung is a must.
Just wish I had put a bung in place when I bought the exhaust a few years ago but I don't think to look into it.
