Today we rolled to off the trailer and into our driveway. We washed and waxed it, did the clay bar on one fender top to see how much difference it makes (a lot) but will defer that job until another day. I wire wheeled some surface rust on the underbody and POR 15'd it.
I started draining the gas and noticed it was quite clear and smelled normal so I put a battery in it and it fired up! The carb (or something related) is leaking fuel so I shut it down quickly but it's great to see how easily it started after approximately 4 years according to the seller.
This was an Arizona car so there really is no bad rust, just some surface stuff here and there, in the engine bay the brake fluid leaked at one point and bubbled the heck out of the paint under the reservoir so there is some surface rust there. The overflow tank also must have leaked as there is some rust on the surface below it as well. I wire wheeled what i could and POR 15'd it as well.
I need to buy a manual, do the brakes, rebuild the carb, drain the gas and clean the lines, change all fluids, belts and hoses, new plugs and wires, check the suspension bushings and re-do as needed and hopefully not much else!
