Right turn signal
Finally pulled m6 1981 2000 out of the workshop after a two year break. I’ve got everything ready for inspection but..... after I changed the right side rear brake light. The rear turn signal has stopped working. I can jump from brake light and get it to light up. But no voltage at the socket. Any ideas before I start getting too into the board? Thanks in advance.

I’ve looked around different posts. A lot talk about cleaning the board. Does anyone have a link to cleaning the circuit board?

Your board have copper printed on plastic, you can use light sand paper and dielectric grease on connection. Follow your current from left light to the right using a test light.

The right side rear light assembly is powered through the left side assembly. I would use a "test light" to test for right signal light voltage at the top connector of the left side rear light assembly first. There is short harness that connects the rear light assemblies together.

I'm sure you have read this already. Clean the ground on the drivers side by the rear wheel well. Then check the prongs that hook to the circuit board itself. The connection needs to be clean. The right turn signal has the most distance to travel on the circuit and the fact you can bypass leads me to think poor connection, dirty connection or poor ground.

I cleaned my circuit boards as follows:
I first drilled out the rivets holding the boards into the plastic carrier
then one by one i drilled out the rivets holding each socket to the board
after removing the socket i found lots of corrosion under the sockets.
I cleaned the sockets up inside and where they contact the board using a dremel and wire wheel,
then i fastened the sockets back to the board with small brass nuts and bolts AND soldered them to the board
finally, i lightly cleaned the board contacts and the connector using the Dremel.
then i bolted the board back to the plastic and reinstalled in the car with a bit of diaelectric grease on the connector to board connections.
good or perhaps better than new. No problems since (except for bulb failures)
