Thanks to Bryan for the detailed response on the sway bar. If it's unnecessary for gentle driving, then I suppose the one bolt may be enough for the gentle cruises planned. :D

I really want to drive this car, but also I really don't want more of it to break away. I think I just might painfully wait the weekend out and get it into the shop on Tuesday

I can report that my welding skills have greatly improved since getting my 1978 Spider. The little 110 volt flux wire feed units from Harbor Freight that go on sale for less than $100 work very well "IF" you use the Italian INE or the Harbor Freight Vulcan (also from Italy) wire.

Be sure to treat the area with Ospho to keep the rust at bay and use a good weldable cold galvanized primer.
