The turn signal and the Warning worked very well for long. But after trying to replace the warning switch in place, a fuse brewed. I change the fuse but the dash indicator light stop working even if the turn signal works fine on both side of the car.
I change the turn signal flasher and the things are still the same. The turn signal works but not the dash indicator.
One suggested a basic test, keeping my hot wire (the grey wire) plugged on the + side of the flasher, and changing the position of the blue white wire and the violet wire on the flasher.
One time, the turn signal works on both sides but not the dash indicator, and the other the dash indicator works but not the turn signals outside.
The warning works well.
What's wrong (except my English)
My turn signal dash indicator stop working.

Your English is good, Twinfast, so that's not the problem. Maybe your dash turn indicator light bulb has burned out? That's the first thing I would check.

Re: My turn signal dash indicator stop working.
Sorry, I forget to say that I already test the bulb and it's working well. The other thing is that the dash bulb works when I switch the position of 2 wires on the flasher (the white bleue and the violet).18Fiatsandcounting wrote:Your English is good, Twinfast, so that's not the problem. My opinion is that something is wrong in my connection between the warning switch and the dash bulb. But I don't know what

I was just working on my flashers as well. On my 83 it appears that the turn signal lights and the turn signal indicator light are run from different output connectors on the flasher.
You could check for voltage on the indicator connector on the flasher.

I found this morning 13,4V on the Grey wire coming inside the flasher, 0V on the blue/white one and the Violet wires when the turn signal is not working. When working I still have 13V on the Grey wire and around 12,8 and 13V blinking on the Violet wire and still 0V on the Blue/White wire. I supposed that the flasher is out and purchase 2 new units and none of them is lighting the dash turn signal bulb when working.

Re: My turn signal dash indicator stop working.
Looking at Brad Artigue's wiring diagrams (for an 81) the flasher has 3 wires - violet goes to the turn signal switch and thus to the turn signal lights, l.Blue/White goes to the turn signal indicator light in the dash and Blue (gray on yours?) is power supplied to the flasher (and thus to the lights).
The flasher switch in non-flasher mode supplies 12 volts to the flasher from fuse A.
The flasher switch in flasher mode supplies 12 volts to the flasher from fuse I. It also Connects the violet wire to both sets of turn signal lights.
You can test the turn signal indicator light ( dash light) by jumpering 12 volts from the fuse box to the L.Blue/White wire at the flasher. It may be useful to pull the flasher part way out and apply the 12 volts to the actual flasher spade connector. This will show that 12 volts at the flasher can light the indicator lamp.
Because you have 0 volts on the L/Blue/White wire it suggests that you have a bad flasher. I was not sure if you did install a new flasher.
Took me a while to figure out the flasher circuit. (in my case i have a bad hazard switch that I will replace tomorrow).

Re: My turn signal dash indicator stop working.
The flasher unit used by Fiat in the Spider is somewhat unique. I purchased a replacement from my local AutoZone and the dash indicator did not work. I then purchased one from a Fiat vendor and now everything works correctly.
If I read your posts correctly you have powered the green indicator in the speedometer from the blue/white wire at the flasher and it lit. If t hat is the case I really wonder if the new flashers you purchased are correct for a spider.
Also I found the groound fro the gree indicator light is completed when the bulb socket is plugged into the speedometer. If the bulb is in its socket but the socket is not in the speedometer it will ot light.

Re: My turn signal dash indicator stop working.
I read your answer, and now I'm absolutely sure that the problem is the flasher. I purchase the same model than I have before, which can easily tune the speed of the turn signal with a button. With the original Fiat flasher, the speed of the turn signal is too fast, because I remove the front and rear side bulbs.spider2081 wrote:The flasher unit used by Fiat in the Spider is somewhat unique.
