Hello Everybody,
It has been awhile since I visited here. I am just glad to see the site back up and running again.
I have a '78 spider (1.8 liter with no catalytic converter) and just replaced the old exhaust with a new ANSA chrome tipped muffler that we are all familiar with. When I bought the ANSA the very nice folks at IAP suggested that I remove all of the old exhaust system ang go staight from the front section to the back section of the exhaust, going to a single muffler setup as opposed to the stock version with 3 mufflers. It really like the look and sound of the new muffler when I am running above about 1500 rpm but when at idle it sounds very loud and almost like there is no muffler at all. When at idle parked in my garage it sounds like a 1.8 liter popcorn popper. Is this "normal" for this setup or is something wrong with the muffler? Maybe it just takes some getting used to.
Good to be back and thanks in advance for any advice.
