oil pressure sending unit installation

This may be a silly question, but should I smear a little oil on the metal washer attached to the oil pressure sending unit? (similar to dabbing oil on the rubber gasket when replacing an oil filter)



We laughed when the new unit arrived in the mail... it's for a Lada. My wife moved here from Russian only a few months ago (not to flee their cars).

well, she should have brought some spare parts with her!

if the oil on the washer makes you feel good, ger ahead. won't matter either way.

You would be better off with anti-seize or thread sealer than putting oil on it.
