Alrighty then...

Got all the gas drained from the gas tank last night, the tank is garbage, the rust is so bad it is unbelievable, thanks to the links here, got a new fuel tank and sender unit on the way, should be here Weds...

The fuel lines are clean, so we'll see what happens when the tank is replaced.

Can anyone direct me to a thread that discusses electrical? I can turn on the switch for lights, I get parking lights but no headlights.

But here's what mine shows. Separate grounds for the left and right headlights, at the grounding pods in the engine bay right behind the headlights, and another ground on a pod (G3, don't know where it's located) for the highbeam indicator. Four fuses in the circuit, D&F for the low beams and C&E for the high beams. The marker lights will come on with the switch in the middle position, but in the headlight position all lights need the ignition swithch to be in the "on" position.
A light blue with black stripe wire off the ignition switch goes to a connector and from there a light blue wire takes power to the headlight switch. Being as you have no headlights it must be a common connection, so grounds or fuse in this case probably aren't the problem. I'd check the ignition switch for power at the blue with black wire in the "on" position. If it's good, I'd suspect the headlight switch.

Like Ron says...make sure the ignition switch is 'on'.The headlights will not come on if it's off.I know,when I first got mine I was sure of an electrical glitch. Not the case.

Ok, good news is, the headlights work

But I still have no turn signals, running lights or brake lights.

If I read the threads correctly, they run off the Hazard switch...new problem, I have no Hazard switch

Any ideas?

To get you by until you get the hazard switch, you should be able to jumper the dark blue wire to the light blue wire with silver bands wire on the pigtail to it. My 82 had a bad hazard switch when I got it and this is how I found the pigtail to it when I went to put in a new switch;

I'm pretty sure your colors are the same on your wiring.

Edit: It's been a while since I did this, and looking at the picture it looks like the jumper may be going to the light blue with black bands. I can't remember, so you may have to try it both ways. Just have a spare fuse handy.

Thanks for the picture Ron, see we can't find anything that resembles that...I posted this as a new topic under electrical, but this is what we found when we removed the aftermarket stereo box...



No pigtail to be found at all....(that we can see)
