As you may have seen I posted that I need a header bow for my top but after a little searching on the net I am now not sure so I need your help. Here is what I have.
'71 header bow. Definitely early style.
Top purchased from individual of unknown year but was told it was for early style top. To me this looks round compared to my bow.
Image from TopsOnline showing differences. Looks a lot like my top.
Will this top work on my bow?
Help needed.

Re: Help needed.
Looks correct to me but I am not an authority. It seems pretty clear cut. The top is not one of the round designs, so it is for an "earlier" (IE pre 79) car.
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

Re: Help needed.
Ok we're at 2 votes each. I was hoping to get a more definitive answer. I am leaning towards early top and going for it, but I really don’t want to pull the cables through and ruin for someone else if it doesn’t fit. If you have experience with tops please post your opinion.
Re: Help needed.
I believe I would attempt to fit the front edge of the top over the bow, and draw your conclusions from what you see. It looks to me like it was intended for the early design, but maybe not made perfectly. If the front edge of the bow has fairly sharp edges, you may want to put some other type of 'protector' over the sharp edge (like some scrap fabric or thin leather), so it won't tend to cut through the top at the front corners.

I cast my vote completely in line with Alvon. What he said is right on, about the looking kinda like an early top but not made perfectly. Also I completely agree with Alvon to just give it a gentle try over the front bow and that will tell you very quickly.
Re: Help needed.
OK, I change my vote to What Alvon said.
Hey, I can admit when I am almost wrong.

I hope these pics help. This is for my 81 Fi CS2. Top is made by Robbins. Just happened to have it laid out on the table ready to install when I saw your post.
