A rare 73 individual???????

Alrighty I thought I knew what I had but come to find out I have something different.. What I thought was a 72 turned out to be a 73... A very late one almost early 74.. rook1 has helped me out greatly with his knowledge on this, yes it's the same one that I'm torn on parting with.. But have pursued to make it into my own flavoring of car. Now I have a few photos on my photobucket page but will try to upload them here..

Here is the front we don't know what grill is in it but it's not the honeycomb style or late 60's fat squares

And I would also like to know what wheels these are they say fiat on them but I can't seem to find this style anywhere


They where a grey/sliver color but ended up black plastidip..
Also can the 1592 top end fit on a 1608 bottom? And are there parts interchangeable?
Example head gasket kits... Not saying I bought one for a 1608 *eyes rolling/whistles*
Or are they completely different in sizes??
Also does anyone know the best way to get rid of gas sludge from sitting too long? Home remedies perhaps?, even caliper rebuild kits or carb rebuild kits??

I'm in much shock and awe with what I have knowing I now know nothing about it hahha

What a cool 124! What are your plans to do with it? I like the split bumper design on the back a lot. As far as the rims go, i have no idea if they are even origional, but if they say fiat on them im sure they are. Good luck with the build!

I was curious if the bottom had started life as a 1608 or the 1756.. Or if they don't fit and it's just a 1592 block that came factory? If so where can I find the bottom block ID number?
I ask these because my timing cover had a sticker saying 1608.. Which leads me to believe I had one.. Novice mistake.
But the timing belt I put on fits perfect for a 1608. Also I was informed the rear bumper was a rare one found on a 74?

But the plans for it currently: get it rolling under its own power as well as stopping with out any need for outside forces haha.

Originally it had a 1592cc engine, and the head seems to match - no the head gaskets are not interchangeable with the 1608, they have different bore spacing.
Those wheels are US made, Italian wheels do not have shanked lug nuts. Likely they say Fiat because they fit Fiat.

Looking at those tires I assume this is a race car?

your bumper outriggers are from different years. the fronts matched my 70-71. the backs are for a new year.

Your car seems to have all the correct bumpers and grill from a '73. Your car's serial number is close to mine and both were made in July of '73. The engine number is located on the side of the block, above the oil filter (I think).

That makes sense on the wheels, the tires where just normal all weather tires I haven't even put 10ft on maybe 4 inches ha! I haven't finished cleaning the motor to find the badging on the oil filter side :/, but I thank you guys for helping me with the motor question. And now I have to research a bit to confirm that I bought the wrong head gasket kit ha! But I jumped the gun on purchasing.
